Nineteenth century bronze vide poche with lamppost and rooster. From the lamppost is suspended a cranberry glass dish for catching earrings or emptying your pockets. The sign on the lamppost in French explains the law regarding lighting the street lamps once the moon has come out. There is also a small hook on the lamppost which was used to hang a pocket watch from.
